
Evaluation results of Horizon Europe Cluster 1: Health 2024 calls have been announced. Within the scope of the calls, 6 projects involving 6 different organizations from Turkey were supported by the European Commission. 2,15 Million Euro is granted by the European Commission to the Turkish organizations Involved in the projects.
The STRONG-UR Project (STRategies for Optimised bioprinting of Next Generation tissues for URethral regeneration and translation); aims to revolutionise surgical tissue reconstruction by producing next-generation bioprinted tubular tissue constructs, focusing on urethral tissue engineering. The BE READY Plus Project (Building a European strategic Research and Innovation Area in Direct Synergy with EU and International) will be carried out by TUBITAK, aims to extend and enhance the efforts initiated by BE READY in preparing for pandemic response across Europe.
The EQUICARES Project (Community-driven Healthcare Access and Mental Health Promotion for Inclusive, Equitable, and Resilient European Societies) uses innovative methodologies, such as an advanced application of Levesque framework for evaluation of mental health services; the deployment of Computational Social Sciences to increase access for hard-to-reach populations in vulnerable situations and collect accurate quantitative and qualitative data on inequalities in mental healthcare services; and the combination of complementary cost-analysis techniques. TheFH-EARLY Project “New Strategies For The Early Diagnosis, Risk Stratification And Co-Management Of Familial Hypercholesterolemia” will enable new strategies for earlier diagnosis and co-management of familial hypercholesterolemia facilitated by well-defined data flows, identifying new mechanisms through multiomics, explainable AI modelling and co-creation with families with FH and caregivers. Hacettepe Üniversitesi and Ege Üniversitesi is involved as partners in the project.
The ClimAIr Project “Climate change and air contamination: Artificial Intelligence applied on the correlation between air pollutants and non-communicable respiratory diseases in Europe” will expand the evidence-based understanding of climate change, air pollution, and non-communicable respiratory diseases by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
